John 3:16
That truly is the greatest gift ever given.
That God would send His son to this earth was truly
Good News!
That good news was not told to Kings,
but to lowly shepherds watching their sheep.
An Angel appeared and said,
Fear not for I bring you
Good News!
For unto you is born this day,
in the city of David,
a saviour, which is Christ the Lord.
And this shall be a sign to you.
You shall find the babe,
wrapped in swaddling clothes and lying in a manager.
Then a multitude of Angels appeared,
singing Glory to God in the Highest,
and peace, goodwill to all men.
And so the
shepherds ran to Bethlehem
to see this Great thing.
And there they found,
Mary, Joseph and
the babe, lying in the manger.
And Mary pondered or hid all these things in her heart.
This Child was her gift from God.
What great things were in store for Him?
Why did Angels proclaim His birth?
Why had she been chosen for this great event?
One day she would understand God's plan.
That He came to earth,
so that we might live with Him forever.
Let us never forget the true meaning of Christmas.
It is the Season of Giving!
Never forget that God gave first and keeps on giving.

What Child Is This?
What child is this, who, laid to rest,
On Mary's lap is sleeping?
Whom angels greet with anthems sweet,
While shepherds watch are keeping?
This, this is Christ the King,
Whom shepherds guard and angels sing:
Haste, haste to bring him laud,
The babe, the son of Mary.
Why lies he in such mean estate
Where ox and ass are feeding?
Good Christian, fear: for sinners here
The silent Word is pleading.
So bring him incense, gold, and myrrh,
Come, peasant, king, to own him.
the King of kings salvation brings,
Let loving hearts enthrone him.
