I found one yesterday, th ee actually; I purchased 2 and went guilty about the third and missed the chance. | Comments: Lady Judy, What can I say...I have been here since very early this morning when I first went to the VGP board and found your link, I was so tied up yesterday that I didn't have time to follow the link until this morning and it has been sheer torture too. grin) Everytime I accidently shut down the page I was working on (Which happened far more often that I thought I could bear.) your page would pop up again and give me another journey into dreamland until once again rudely being snatched away by getting bo ted off-line and forcing myself to get back to the work at hand. Do you do desktop schemes? They are my latest love. I collect Klein postcards and I have been aching to scan my cards and the two you offered are in that same collection. I am so fortunate as to have come into possession of a set of the original die-cuts of Queen Victoria and her family and there are something like fifteen different sections that probably came in two or perhaps three larger sheets. They have a ribbon scro l banner gracefully attached to the bottom edge and they show Queen Victoria throughout her entire reign. I would imagine that they were a presentation memorial souvenier much like we have now days with the loss of our beloved "Lady Diana Spencer". I wo ld love to have these scanned and offered for our members, I think they should be available to everyone that loves Victoriana. They are a wonderful peice of lithography. I paid over $100 for the set over 20 years ago by sending a bit here and there ever month to a wonderful lady I met in Boca Raton, Florida at the annual Post Card Market who actually trusted me, a total stranger with a hugh number of die-cuts on my word that I would pay her faithfully. She was from New Jersey and I have always regrette losing touch with her. The die-cuts remain carefully wrapped and tucked away for protection after all these years, but they are whispering to me. I am so glad that you joined the Victorian Gathering Place and thankyou for the wonderful contributions you are making available to me and the other VGP Ladies.

I lost my father in '90 and cannot tell you how close to home your tribute to him hit. He, too had a wonderful voice and spent lots of time with my sister and me. I, like you, remember a great deal ab ut the time I spent with him as through childhood to adulthood. He and I tromped through many cemetaries together as I am a geneology nut and he has helped me a great in this effort, with stories from the old folks that were passed to him and so on. My om is still with me, though her memory is going at 83 and she calls me several times a day, I am so proud of the way she has gone on after my father died. They had their 50th wedding anniversary a few weeks before my Dad died and they never went anywhere without each other. They worshiped God in their daily lives and passed that on to my sister and me. I feel as though I have had my morning devotional already. Thank you. Lola |
